Job Description and Requirements:
  • The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is currently seeking Paralegal Specialists to assist in the preparation of cases for legal action, to include but not limited to, conducting assigned legal research, gathering documentation and media, assisting in the preparation of legal documents, utilizing various databases and digital media applications, and assisting in Court including operating technical presentation equipment, along with other related duties.

    Candidates must be graduates of an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal Studies, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and a Certificate of Proficiency in Paralegal Studies.

This will be a provisional position pending the outcome of a required N.J. Civil Service exam and subsequent probationary period.
    Working hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday along with a minimum of two (2) individual weekend day/holiday shifts per year.

    Paralegal Specialists are full-time County employees, and therefore, are entitled to a range of benefits, including health insurance, a prescription plan, a dental plan, enrollment in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and a 457 Deferred Compensation plan. Additionally, Paralegal Specialists receive vacation, personal, and sick time annually.
